Would you comment on this definition, within the context of corporate worship:
“[W]orship … consists essentially of an inner experience of the satisfaction of our souls in God over and above all other joys.”
Too bad I didn’t ask this question in time for the October episode, guess I’ll just have to wait! Can we talk you into a weekly podcast instead of monthly? 🙂
We’ll add your question to the queue. As for going weekly, we’ll take that as a complement, but I’m afraid we don’t have as much time to record as you do to listen. We are happy to just get them out monthly. ;O)
I thought I might expand on my question a bit. What I’d like to understand is, is this an accurate definition of worship, and what implications it might have for how we “do church” – particularly how does it fit within an “ordinary means” approach (or does it fit at all), vs. a more contemporary approach to church. Is there a better definition of worship?

Thank you for answering my question on this month’s podcast. I realized that I forgot to state that it was a fairly “broad evangelical PCA church”. However, especially for non-presbyterian listeners, I was glad the question had more universal application.
Would there be anything different or more specific that would apply to a broadly-Reformed PCA setting?
