The Federal Vision

This month Matt and I thought it would be appropriate to cover the declarations made recently by our denomination (PCA) with regard to the false teachings of the movement known as the Federal Vision.

Thanks for discussing FV and NPP. Being new to the reformed faith and the PCA, I watched some of the GA online and was a bit confused. It seemed to me some people wanted to avoid voting on the report. Sad when such teachings have a negative impact on the church. But I digress. Thanks for the podcasts … I look forward to them every month!

I am not an FV-guy, but I have been severely tried by the attitude with which some men have gone after them. Perhaps it’s because I’m a PCA-man myself, but I found your attitudes and means on approaching the subject to be wonderful. TE Leithart is in our Presbytery and yet many men (in our presbytery) feel free to bring unspecified ‘ad hominem’ attacks on him as if he weren’t in the room. Just like in the “House Church” episode, your demeanor — with questions like, “What POSITIVE thing can we say about X?” — really cement your caring heart in the ears of your listeners and exemplify godliness. Thanks for your hearts.
